Canada Lodge and Lake Wedding Venue in South Wales

Canada Lodge and Lake wedding Venue is situated in a secluded valley on the outskirts of Cardiff, South Wales. It truly is the ideal venue for a fairytale wedding! Being in the outer city region, just north of Cardiff, the venue is easily accessible for anyone wishing to celebrate their wedding here.

On the 17th of July 2022 I had the pleasure of filming the wedding film of Cerys and Sam, who are two of the nicest people you could ever wish to meet.

To start the day I found myself heading into Cardiff to meet up with Sam and his groomsmen , to get some Groom Preparation shots. Upon my arrival Sam and his mates had already started the party with drinks in hand, music playing loudly and laughter all around. This was only a quick stop of around 30-40 minutes before heading off to Canada Lodge and Lake to meet up with Cerys and the Bridesmaids. Although it was short visit, we had a proper laugh and it really set the mood for the day!

Next stop was the venue. Here I met up with Cerys and her bridal party for hair, makeup and general bridal preparations. They were getting ready in the gorgeous log cabin situated at the far end of the lake. With such a spectacular view, looking up the lake towards the picturesque Canadian style lodge, who wouldn’t be in a great mood? The girls certainly were! What a great view to start the wedding day!

With the ceremony due to start nerves were finally setting in. the moment Sam turned around and caught one glance of Cerys, He welled up with joy and the tears began to roll down his face as his future wife approached, hand in hand with her dad, down the aisle. After years of being together the day had finally arrived. They were married! A loud heartwarming cheer from their close friends and family confirmed the moment they had all been waiting for.

Fun and laughter soon followed and thus the celebrating began. After one of the funniest group shot sessions I’ve ever witnessed, with both Sam and Cerys being hoisted into the air by the bridesmaids and groomsmen, the party had well and truly begun. All of the guests took advantage of the beautiful summer sunshine, spending many hours on the lawn and outdoor courtyard.

We waited a little later in the day for a couple shoot for Cerys and Sam’s wedding because the weather was in the high 30’s! With no clouds in sight until later in the afternoon, as well as some promising signs of a gorgeous summer sunset, we finally took our opportunity and took the Bride & Groom for qt natural and relaxed couples shoot around some of the most picturesque areas around the venue. They walked along the lake side, across the ridge and through the trees where we got some incredible shots. We finished off at the perfect time, in the nearby meadow, with the summer sun setting in the distance. What a couple Shoot!

Cerys and Sam’s wedding was absolutely amazing, the whole day was a whole load of fun. The evening dancing and late night party were superb with almost everyone up on the dance floor. This was one of those special weddings where I genuinely found it difficult to leave as it was just such a brilliant day! The party wasn’t showing any sign of slowing down. What a pleasure it was to be their wedding videographer!
